The curse of the undead is not a pretty one to watch play out. The first few times a friend meets a tragic fate, only to return home in a matter of hours is euphoric, seemingly a step towards eternal life. Then you notice as their memories fade. You watch as they slowly forget who they where. You watch as they slowly forget what they love. You watch them forget you. Until one day, there's nothing left but a husk. Alive? Yes. But there's no life in those eyes. The reason so many hollow seem to be combatants is because as the undead hollow, they seem to best recall what they did most in life. Usually a single task they repeat endlessly. And as the soldiers, warriors and militia only know how to kill, all the other hollow don't stand a chance.
